導言|Introduction
生命,是地景中最容易被辨認的覆蓋與生長。
森林以密集的垂直結構形成層次;草原以連續而開放的地表向外延伸;苔原則在寒冷、貧瘠的環境中,以低矮而緩慢的方式存在。
在礦物中,綠色包裹體、細小晶體、片狀共生與表面覆蓋,也可能形成接近植物群落與地表生態的結構。
這不是說礦物具有生物生命,而是不同尺度的自然,都可能呈現生長、聚集、覆蓋與適應的形式。
在 DIYU Reading System 中,生命閱讀的是:
生長、覆蓋與共存。
Life is one of the most recognisable expressions of growth and covering within landscape.
Forests create layers through dense vertical structures. Grasslands extend outward as open and continuous surfaces. Tundra persists through low and gradual growth under cold and limited conditions.
Within minerals, green inclusions, fine crystals, layered associations, and surface coatings may evoke similar structures.
This does not mean that minerals are biologically alive. It means that different scales of nature may share patterns of growth, gathering, covering, and adaptation.

森林|Forest
森林由大量個體共同形成密度、垂直方向與內部層次。
在礦物中,密集的綠泥石、綠簾石、陽起石或其他柱狀與針狀包裹體,可能形成樹木、枝葉與林地般的閱讀。真正的森林感不只來自綠色,也來自不同高度、方向與空隙共同建立的深度。
森林的閱讀來自:
密度、層次與繁盛。
A forest is formed when numerous individual elements create density, vertical direction, and internal layers.
In minerals, dense Chlorite, Epidote, Actinolite, or other prismatic and needle-like inclusions may evoke trees, branches, and woodland. Forest-like structure depends not only upon green colour, but upon relationships between height, direction, and open space.
The forest is read through:
density, layering, and abundance.
草原|Grassland
草原不是密集向上的森林,而是低矮、連續並向遠處展開的地表。
在礦物中,均勻分布的細小綠色包裹體、短晶簇、片狀覆蓋與平緩色帶,可能形成草原般的延伸感。它的重點不是單一主體,而是廣泛而連續的分布。
草原的閱讀來自:
延展、開放與連續。
Grassland is not a dense vertical forest, but a low and continuous surface extending into distance.
In minerals, evenly distributed green inclusions, short crystals, layered coatings, and gentle colour bands may create a grassland-like sense of extension. Its emphasis lies not in one dominant form, but in broad and continuous distribution.
The grassland is read through:
extension, openness, and continuity.
苔原|Tundra
苔原存在於寒冷、風勢強烈或生長條件受限的環境。
植物通常低矮、貼近地表,並以緩慢而分散的方式覆蓋土地。它不是繁茂森林的縮小版本,而是一種適應限制後形成的生命結構。
在礦物中,薄層綠泥石、苔蘚狀包裹體、局部礦皮與低矮晶體,可能形成苔原般的閱讀。
苔原的閱讀來自:
低伏、適應與持續。
Tundra develops under cold, windy, or otherwise limited conditions.
Its vegetation remains low, close to the ground, and spreads slowly across the surface. It is not simply a smaller forest, but a form of life adapted to restriction.
In minerals, thin Chlorite layers, moss-like inclusions, partial mineral skins, and low crystal growth may evoke tundra.
The tundra is read through:
low growth, adaptation, and persistence.
礦物中的生命|Life in Minerals
閱讀礦物中的生命,可以觀察:
- 綠色物質是柱狀、片狀、顆粒狀或霧狀;
- 包裹體是密集聚集,還是均勻延展;
- 表面覆蓋是否保留原有晶體輪廓;
- 不同礦物之間是否形成依附、穿插或共同生長;
- 空隙是否參與整體層次,而非完全被填滿。
生命閱讀不只依靠綠色。
真正重要的是礦物如何聚集、覆蓋、分布,以及不同結構如何共享同一個空間。
To read life within minerals, observe:
- whether green material is prismatic, flaky, granular, or cloud-like;
- whether inclusions gather densely or extend evenly;
- whether surface coverings preserve the original crystal form;
- whether associated minerals attach, intersect, or grow together;
- whether open space contributes to the overall structure.
Life reading does not depend upon green colour alone.
What matters is how mineral structures gather, cover, distribute, and share space.
閱讀印象|Reading Impressions
生命常被簡化成茂盛與增加。
但自然中的生命也包含限制、競爭、空隙與停止。
森林需要空間讓不同高度共存。
草原依靠連續,而不是依靠最高的個體。
苔原則顯示,在條件有限時,低矮與緩慢也能成為長期存在的方式。
因此,生命逐漸形成:
生長、聚集、覆蓋、適應與共存。
Life is often reduced to abundance and increase.
Yet life in nature also contains limitation, competition, open space, and interruption.
A forest requires room for different heights to coexist.
Grassland depends upon continuity rather than one dominant individual.
Tundra shows that under limited conditions, low and gradual growth may still become a lasting form of existence.
Life therefore develops into:
growth, gathering, covering, adaptation, and coexistence.
DIYU Reading
DIYU 不將生命閱讀成礦物具有意識或治癒能力。
礦物中的生命感,來自人們對生長結構的辨認。
一片綠色包裹體之所以像森林,不只因為它是綠色,而是因為其中存在密度、高低、方向與空隙。
一層低伏的礦物覆蓋之所以像苔原,也不是因為它不夠繁盛,而是因為它以適合當下條件的方式持續存在。
生長並不只有一種形式。
有些向上,有些向外;有些密集聚集,有些低伏延伸。
閱讀生命,不是要求所有事物都快速繁盛。
而是理解每一種存在,如何在自己的條件中找到位置,並與周圍共同形成完整環境。
DIYU does not read Life as proof that minerals possess consciousness or healing power.
The sense of life within minerals arises from recognising structures of growth.
Green inclusions resemble a forest not only because they are green, but because they contain density, height, direction, and open space.
A low mineral covering resembles tundra not because it has failed to become abundant, but because it persists in a form suited to its conditions.
Growth does not have only one form.
Some structures rise, others spread outward. Some gather densely, while others remain low and continuous.
To read Life is not to demand rapid abundance.
It is to understand how each form finds a position within its conditions and contributes to a complete environment.
