通靈水晶的辨識，從晶冠上的一個七邊形開始。

一端較小。
兩個面隔著石英彼此相望。
而正是在這組形態之上，New Age 水晶文化開始賦予它另一層意義。

The seven-sided face and the triangle
The identification of a Channeling Crystal begins with a seven-sided face upon the termination.
As the quartz is slowly turned, a larger seven-sided primary face may appear.
But the identification does not end there.
Directly opposite it, there must also be a triangular face.

This relationship is the central identifying feature of the Channeling Crystal.
Other triangular faces may also appear around the termination, but only the triangle directly opposite the seven-sided face belongs to this configuration.
A Channeling Crystal, then, is not simply a collection of two shapes.
What matters is the direction created between them.
One side larger.
One side smaller.
Two faces looking toward one another through the body of the quartz.
Upon this relationship, New Age crystal culture began to build another layer of meaning.

Channeling Crystal 被放在接收的位置。

A channel for receiving
Within modern crystal-healing language, Channeling does not refer only to communication with an external presence.
It is more broadly understood as allowing information to pass through.
The seven-sided primary face becomes the larger entrance.
It is associated with inner wisdom, intuition, the higher self, and messages that may arise through meditation.
The triangle on the opposite side gives this channel a sense of direction.
And so a quartz crystal with an unusual relationship between its faces becomes understood as a crystal of reception.
Some hold it during meditation.
Some ask a question inwardly.
Others simply remain with the seven-sided face, waiting for something not yet spoken to become clearer.
There is no single interpretation shared by every practitioner.
Different authors describe the source of such messages in different ways.
Some speak of the higher self.
Some of spiritual guidance.
Some of universal wisdom.
Others are more concerned with whether, in stillness, a person can finally hear an intuition that was already present.
Yet across these different interpretations, one idea remains remarkably consistent:
the Channeling Crystal belongs to the act of receiving.
It does not answer in place of the person.
It creates a path for listening.

Between form and message
Within the world of Master Crystals, the Channeling Crystal is an appropriate place to begin.
It preserves two things that seem, at first, very far apart.
On one side is a precise and visible form.
Seven edges.
Three edges.
Facing one another.
On the other is an idea that belongs unmistakably to New Age crystal culture:
that a crystal may become a channel for information.
Both are placed upon the same piece of quartz.
First comes the visible form.
Then comes the reading of reception, intuition, and channeling.
Perhaps this is what makes the Channeling Crystal most interesting.
Not simply what it is believed to do,
but the fact that people once looked at a seven-sided face and a triangle
and believed that between those two opposing forms
there might be an invisible path.
Quartz left behind two faces.
