MASTER CRYSTALS
New Age

The slanted face
The Time Link Crystal stands very close to the Window Crystal.
Both display an additional face near the junction between the termination and the body of the quartz.
What separates them is the geometry of that face.
The Window tends toward an upright diamond.
The additional face of a Time Link Crystal, by contrast, visibly leans to one side, taking the form of a parallelogram.
It does not resemble a window facing the observer directly.
It is closer to a doorway already turning toward a direction.
Within contemporary Master Crystal systems, this slanted parallelogram is the defining feature of the Time Link. Some traditions describe it as an additional seventh face and place it beside the Window Crystal within the same family of forms.
The important question, then, is not simply whether an extra face exists.
It is:
which way does it lean?
Once the window begins to incline,
New Age interpretation begins to place time within its direction.

Left toward the past, right toward the future
In many later crystal-healing systems, the Time Link is divided into two directions:
leaning left, toward the past.
leaning right, toward the future.
Judy Hall uses this distinction as well: the left-inclined Time Link becomes a form of Regression, associated with the past, previous lives, and looking backward; the right-inclined form becomes Progression, pointing toward the future and possibilities not yet unfolded.
An originally simple slanted face
thus acquires a direction in time.
To the left, one looks back.
Some practitioners use it in reflection upon memory; others place it within the language of past lives, ancestry, and experiences that have not yet been fully understood.
To the right, one looks forward.
It becomes associated with future possibilities, choices, and paths still taking shape — as though the crystal could mark a line between the present self and the self one might yet become.
But this left-and-right symbolism is not perfectly uniform across every crystal author.
Within some traditions associated with Katrina Raphaell, the same parallelogram also enters the system of Activation Crystals, where left and right can acquire additional meanings and uses.
The most stable point of identification therefore remains the slanted parallelogram itself.
What “left” and “right” mean
belongs to the interpretive world built around it.
Direction belongs to form.
Time is the meaning that people placed within that direction.
Time Link
New Age
Time Link

If time is not a straight line
Perhaps the most compelling idea within the Time Link is not simply “seeing the future” or “returning to the past.”
It is the distinctly New Age idea beneath them:
perhaps time is not only a straight line moving from yesterday toward tomorrow.
Within crystal traditions associated with Katrina Raphaell, the parallelogram of the Time Link has been described as a bridge connecting aspects of the self existing in other times and places. Past and future become not merely distant points, but parts of existence that consciousness may attempt to approach again.
This is also what makes the Chinese name “Time Tunnel” so evocative.
It gives the Time Link a sense of space.
As though a slanted opening had appeared upon the surface of quartz.
On this side is the present.
On the other may be memory.
A future imagined but not yet lived.
Or simply a moment in meditation when a person looks again at where they have been and where they may be going.
New Age culture looked at a slanted crystal face
and read it as a sign that time might not be closed.
The past has not entirely vanished.
The future is not entirely absent.
And the present
is simply where we happen to be standing.
The small parallelogram therefore becomes more than a window.
A window allows us to see.
A Time Link invites us to imagine that we might pass through.
