時間|Time
導言|Introduction
時間在地景中,通常不是直接被看見,而是透過累積、侵蝕、斷裂與再生留下痕跡。
岩壁暴露地表的切面;峽谷記錄長期侵蝕形成的深度;地層保存不同時期的沉積;礦脈穿過原有岩體;洞穴則由溶蝕與空間變化形成內部世界。
在礦物中,生長層、幻影、裂隙、礦物填充、溶蝕與自癒,也可能形成相近的時間結構。
在 DIYU Reading System 中,時間閱讀的是:
累積、切割與痕跡。
Time is rarely seen directly within a landscape. It becomes visible through accumulation, erosion, fracture, and renewed formation.
Cliffs expose sections of the land. Canyons preserve the depth created through prolonged erosion. Strata record successive periods of deposition. Mineral veins cross earlier rock, while caves form through dissolution and changing internal space.
Within minerals, growth layers, phantoms, fractures, mineral fillings, etching, and self-healing may create comparable records of time.

accumulation, division, and traces.
岩壁|Cliff
岩壁是地表被切開後露出的垂直或陡峭界面。
在礦物中,明顯斷面、平直晶面、層狀邊緣與陡峭母岩,可能形成岩壁般的閱讀。它使原本隱藏於內部的結構直接面向觀看者。
岩壁的閱讀來自:
暴露、界面與承受。
A cliff is a steep or vertical surface exposed where the land has been cut or eroded.
In minerals, sharp fractures, broad crystal faces, layered edges, and steep matrix surfaces may evoke a cliff.
The cliff is read through:
exposure, boundary, and endurance.
峽谷|Canyon
峽谷形成於長時間侵蝕,使地表被向下切入,並在兩側留下陡峭壁面。
在礦物中,深裂隙、晶體間的狹長空隙、溶蝕凹槽與層狀切口,可能形成峽谷般的深度。峽谷感不只來自裂開,也來自兩側結構對中間空間的共同限定。

深入、切割與通道。
A canyon forms through prolonged erosion that cuts downward into the land and leaves steep walls on both sides.
In minerals, deep fractures, narrow spaces between crystals, etched grooves, and layered openings may create canyon-like depth.
The canyon is read through:
depth, division, and passage.
地層|Strata
地層由不同時期的沉積、壓實與地質變化逐步形成。
在礦物中,多層幻影、色帶、生長邊界與片狀共生,可以保存不同階段的排列。每一層不只是裝飾,而是前後形成關係留下的分界。
地層的閱讀來自:
累積、次序與記錄。
Strata form gradually through deposition, compaction, and geological change.
In minerals, repeated phantoms, colour bands, growth boundaries, and layered associations may preserve separate stages of formation.
Strata are read through:
accumulation, sequence, and record.
洞穴|Cave
洞穴是岩體內部因溶蝕、侵蝕或其他作用形成的空間。
在礦物中,晶洞、內部空腔、開放裂隙與向內生長的晶體,可能形成洞穴般的內外關係。它的重點不是缺少物質,而是空間本身成為結構的一部分。
洞穴的閱讀來自:
內部、空缺與容納。
A cave is an internal space formed within rock through dissolution, erosion, or related processes.
In minerals, geodes, cavities, open fractures, and inward-growing crystals may create cave-like relationships between exterior and interior.
The cave is read through:
interiority, absence, and containment.
礦物中的時間|Time in Minerals
閱讀礦物中的時間,可以觀察:
- 是否存在多次生長形成的層次;
- 裂隙是否被後來的礦物填充;
- 晶體是否保存斷裂、溶蝕或自癒痕跡;
- 不同色帶與包裹體是否具有先後關係;
- 空腔與缺口是否參與整體結構;
- 母岩與晶體是否顯示不同形成階段。
時間不只存在於完整的部分。
缺口、斷面與覆蓋,也可能是形成歷程最清楚的記錄。
To read time within minerals, observe:
- whether several stages of growth are visible;
- whether later minerals fill earlier fractures;
- whether crystals preserve breakage, etching, or self-healing;
- whether colour bands and inclusions reveal sequence;
- whether cavities and missing areas contribute to the structure;
- whether matrix and crystals represent different stages of formation.
Time is not preserved only in complete surfaces.
Gaps, fractures, and later coverings may provide the clearest records of formation.
閱讀印象|Reading Impressions
時間常被理解成持續增加,但自然中的時間也包含移除與改寫。
地層逐步累積。
峽谷向下切入。
礦脈穿過原有岩體。
洞穴則讓被移除的部分轉化成空間。
因此,時間逐漸形成:
累積、切割、穿行、缺失與保存。
Time is often understood as continuous addition, yet time in nature also includes removal and revision.
Strata accumulate.
Canyons cut downward.
Mineral veins cross earlier rock.
Caves transform removed material into space.
Time therefore develops into:
accumulation, division, passage, absence, and preservation.
DIYU Reading
DIYU 不將時間閱讀成所有痕跡都必須被修復。
自然中的時間,既會增加,也會帶走。
有些層次被保存,有些表面被侵蝕;裂隙可能保持開放,也可能被後來的礦物重新填入。
因此,完整不等於沒有經歷改變。
一件礦物之所以具有時間感,往往正是因為不同階段同時留在它的表面與內部。
閱讀時間,不是回到尚未發生之前。
而是辨認哪些部分被留下、哪些已經改變,以及它們如何共同形成現在的結構。
DIYU does not read Time as a demand that every trace must be repaired.
Time in nature both adds and removes.
Some layers remain, while some surfaces are eroded. Fractures may stay open or become filled by later minerals.
Completeness therefore does not mean the absence of change.
A mineral often carries time precisely because several stages remain together upon its surface and within its structure.
To read Time is not to return to a moment before change occurred.
It is to recognise what has remained, what has changed, and how both now form the present structure.
