MASTER CRYSTALS

Six faces in complete alternation
The Dow Crystal carries the geometry of the previous two forms into completion.
The Channeling Crystal begins with 7–3.
The Transmitter is read through the adjacent sequence 7–3–7.
With a Dow Crystal, the eye must continue around the entire termination.
Its six faces alternate in sequence:
7–3–7–3–7–3.
Three heptagons.
Three triangles.
Each separated from the next — never two sevens together, never two threes together.
What defines the Dow Crystal, then, is not simply the presence of both seven-sided and triangular faces.
The entire termination enters the same rhythm.
Begin with any heptagon, and the next face is a triangle.
The next returns to seven.
The pattern continues through all six faces until it arrives again at the beginning.
This complete alternation of 7–3–7–3–7–3 is the central identifying geometry of the Dow Crystal in contemporary Master Crystal systems.
It is no longer only a relationship between faces.
It is an entire circle.

Receiving and transmitting meet within the same crystal
For this reason, the Dow Crystal occupies a distinctive place within the New Age language of Master Crystals.
It contains the geometries associated with both Channeling and Transmitter Crystals.
A 7–3 relationship can be found within it.
So can 7–3–7.
Yet wherever the pattern begins, it does not stop at a single face.
It continues.
Receiving moves into transmission.
Transmission returns again to reception.
This is why some crystal-healing traditions have also called the Dow a Trans-Channeler, reading its geometry as a complete circuit of communication — not only listening, and not only sending, but moving continuously between the two.
Balance therefore becomes one of the recurring themes of the Dow Crystal.
Three does not overwhelm seven.
The larger faces do not become the only centre.
They simply appear in sequence.
Again and again.
Within some New Age interpretations, seven is associated with inner wisdom, spiritual understanding, and reception; three with expression, manifestation, and the movement of inner knowledge into the outer world.
In the Dow Crystal, these two symbolic movements are no longer separated.
One turns inward.
Then outward.
Then inward again.
Like breathing.
Like a cycle without a clear beginning or final end.
The “completion” associated with the Dow Crystal, then,
does not mean that everything has come to a stop.
It means that every direction
contains a way back.
Dow,
「Dow」
7–3–7–3–7–3。
New Age

Dow is a name, not the Eastern “Tao”
In Chinese, the Dow Crystal is often rendered with a character pronounced like “Dao,” which can easily invite another layer of association.
Its repeating 7–3–7–3–7–3 geometry already suggests cycles, balance, and alternating movement.
Yet Dow does not originate from Taoism, nor is it another spelling of Tao.
Within modern crystal-healing literature, the name is generally traced to JaneAnn Dow, whose surname became associated with this distinctive termination pattern.
There is nevertheless something intriguing about what happened when the name entered Chinese.
“Dow” happened to meet a character that sounds like “Dao.”
Two languages with no original historical connection
briefly overlapped upon the same piece of quartz.
The original name came from a person.
The later spiritual reading repeatedly returned to balance, integration, cycles, and completion.
And the crystal itself
simply continued to hold its six faces in sequence:
7–3–7–3–7–3.
New Age culture looked at this complete alternation
and placed reception and transmission within the same cycle.
What remained was no longer merely a quartz crystal bearing triangles and heptagons.
It became an image of wholeness:
balance is not the act of remaining at the centre.
It is the ability to move out — and return.
