A Roman London Well May Have Been 'Closed' with Coins, a Broken Bracelet, Tableware and a Deer Carcass|
London Museum records a late Roman hoard placed in a well at Drapers' Gardens. The layered deposit included coins, broken bucket parts, a deliberately broken woman's bracelet, stacked tableware and part of a young deer carcass; the museum interprets it as likely ritual deposition, perhaps to close the well and seek good luck before owners left.
BLIND SPOT
